Aero optimized, the driver sits on the left so you need more downforce on that side.

TBF a lot of the new Mercedes at the dealer look like that but if you just open the hood and close it properly with a nice shove it closes smooth and perfect. Some people try to be too dainty and dont get it latched properly.

Having looked at them with an eye to buy and also worked on one... yeah. That’s about par for the fucking course. The early R35's are tight as a goddamn drum, and then as you move down the years, it’s like rings on a tree. The gaps from the factory just get wider and wider and wider.
